Philip (Phil) Schechter, SPHR
Phil is the former director and founder of the MBA in Human Resource Management program at the University of St. Thomas where he also taught in the Center for Health and Medical Affairs, the Executive MBA, Master of International Management, evening MBA, John Morrison Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Management Center. He was also on the faculty at the Chicago Medical School and Inver Hills Community College.

His corporate experience includes human resource management and training and development experience in the health care (Mt. Sinai Hospital; Cook County Medical Center and Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago) and manufacturing (Johnson & Johnson; PaCal Steel) sectors. Phil's international human resource experience includes assignments in Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and North America.

His areas of research include: preventive methods for dealing with sexual harassment in the workplace; strategic human resource planning; staffing; reward systems; workplace violence; workforce skill assessment; and the impact of HRM policies and practices on corporate performance.

Phil has served on the board of directors for Twin Cities Human Resource Association, Vocational Services, Twin Cities Labor Management Council, Phillips Neighborhood Association, and Health Employers, Inc.

Karen Schechter, SPHR
Karen's corporate human resources management experience comes from the manufacturing (Johnson & Johnson; Henkel), health care (Northwestern Hospital in Chicago), financial services (EduServe), and social services (Ramsey Action Programs, Inc.) sectors. She has taught courses in supervision, human resource management, and labor relations in undergraduate and graduate settings. Her education includes Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business Administration. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
